About GoEurope
A personal European photo archive, rebuilt as a useful field guide without losing the curiosity of the original journeys.
It began with the photographs
GoEurope.info was created to share impressions from cities across Europe: streets discovered on foot, views worth climbing for, public spaces, buildings, food and the details that make a place feel different from the last one. The photography was never stock imagery. It came home from the journeys with the stories.
The original site was deliberately simple. A visitor could browse by country, open a city or ask for a random destination. That directness remains. What has changed is the depth: every city now has an introduction, practical transport guidance, cultural and food context, seasonal advice and a realistic route for one day.
What has been preserved
All 163 photographs in the original city folders remain in the archive, including images that older page templates did not display. The original logo, background artwork and favicon have also been retained. Country and city addresses continue to use the familiar /country/city pattern, and “random city” still makes a fresh draw from the complete set of 21 guides.
What a guide can—and cannot—do
A city guide should help you ask better questions, not pretend that a place stands still. Routes, fares, opening hours and local businesses change. GoEurope therefore links to official visitor, transport and airport sources on every city page. Verify important details close to departure and make room for what you find once you arrive.
The editorial aim is straightforward: honest orientation, original visual memory and enough context to build a trip of your own.
